If a service included in the package is governed by an international convention binding the EU, the organiser may invoke the liability limits and conditions under that convention. Insofar as such conventions provide for the exclusivity of their liability rules, they take precedence over the PTD. Member states may allow further limitations in accordance with international conventions that are not binding on the EU. "e package travel contract may only limit the organiser’s liability if that limitation does not apply to personal injury or damage caused intentionally or with negligence and does not amount to less than three times the total price of the package. Travellers may additionally assert their rights under a European regulation on passenger rights or an international convention. However, any compensation received under such a regulation or convention is to be decuted from the price reduction or compensation under the PTD, and vice versa. "e limitation period is up to the member states but must not be less than two years. 367 ARTICLE 14 | MICHAEL WUKOSCHITZ
