INTRODUCTION Due to its nature, tourism is a multidimensional global phenomenon; economically based as it is, yet inextricably bound to socio-cultural exchange, with resource utilization as its underlying framework. Corresponding to its operational intricacy, the body of law regulating its activities—known collectively as the law of Travel and Tourism—constitutes an exceedingly broad and rapidly changing field of jurisprudence. Within the legal structure of Türkiye, Tourism Law is not a uniquely selfsufficient and deeply coded sector of law within the confines of the Turkish legal order. Rather, it is a distinctly interdisciplinary legal area that consolidates, interprets, and regulates an extremely broad range of legal concepts in order to define the multifaceted relationships formed between tourists, commercially focused tourism service providers (such as owners of accommodations, tour operators, and travel agencies) and state entities/institutions.
