Overall Assessment In November 2023, the EU Commission came up with a so called “Passenger Mobility Package” which consists of four parts: a revision of the Package Travel Directive, amendments to the Passenger Rights Regulations concerning passengers travelling by aircraft, ship, bus or train, a proposal for a new Regulation on Multimodal Journeys and a Revision of the Delegated Regulation on EU-wide multimodal travel information service (MMTIS). The article focusses on the first three parts of the Passenger Mobility Package, presents the main changes and subjects them to a critical review. For reasons of clarity, not all details are covered, but selected key points are discussed, advantages and weak points shown and conclusions drawn.
