INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF TOURISM, TRAVEL AND HOSPITALITY LAW 1. DEFINITION OF CLIMATE CHANGE Climate change is a phenomenon that results in several effects including global warming. This section will shed light on the difference between warming and change before analyzing climate and economic indicators and studying the assessments of forecasts for 2050 and 2100 under several scenarios. 1.1 Climate change The term change implies a modification of an element which identifies itself by certain attributes and subsequently presents itself as something else. It may be that the phase through which this element passes to leave a certain status and arrives at another is itself subject to external or internal implications. This passage from one state to another modifies the identity of an element partially or completely according to the intensity of the process and according to the intervening factors. In his dictionary of philosophy,(Baraquin, 2007)3 defines the term change as a “quantitative or qualitative transformation of the same reality”. It implies a reality which remains unchanged but which during the process of transformation brings new evidence. The author does not indicate whether this transformation is positive or negative but adds that it might have a post transformatio quantitative attribute that might reflect a negative quality. Another philosophical definition identifies change as a "replacement of one reality by another within the same space"(Godin, 2004)4. In this definition, reality is replaced by another but remains in the same space. It is not clear if this replacement is partial or complete, but there is an indication that it is clearly kept in the space from which it was formed. The term climate meanwhile means the set of meteorological phenomena that characterize the average state of the atmosphere in a given place. The atmosphere, which is an environment in which we live and which is the theater where meteorological phenomena take place, presents different states, in different places and times that identify the climate. Climatology studies the structure and dynamics of the Earth's climate system. Its goal is to understand how global climates maintain or change over time. To this end, observations and theories from various fields are 3Baraquions, Philosophical Dictionary [online], 2007, available at <https://dicophilo.fr/definition/changement/> consulted on 15.11.2019. 4Godin, Philosophical Dictionary [online], 2004, available at https://dicophilo.fr/definition/changement/, consulted on 15.11.2019.
