TOURISM AND CLIMATE CHANGE IN ISLAND COUNTRIES formed during and after the snowfall is the holding element that stabilizes the temperatures compared to the other hot periods of the year.(God, 2014)26. In the field of meteorology, we refer to the "rain/snow limit" to identify the height from which the rain gradually becomes snow and the geography at which the precipitation, during a storm, becomes snow. This section is called “precipitation evolution” because climate change could increase rainfall, but it would decrease snow cover. Steam created to make rain and then snow will not be able to complete its process. The snow will not form and it will only be rain – hence the decrease in snow cover. Unfortunately, it is not possible to present data on an evolution of the number of snow days in the world in order to illustrate the fact that snow precipitation is decreasing due to climate change. However, it is possible to present figures on the number of snow days in France. The graph below was constructed from studies conducted by the Department of Climatology and Climate Services of Météo France(Vincendon, 2019)27. It is possible to notice that all French cities are experiencing a drop in terms of the number of snow days by comparing the periods 1951-1980 and the period 1981-2010.
