INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF TOURISM, TRAVEL AND HOSPITALITY LAW It was possible to collect information on annual average temperatures at the global level from a data source available online on the NOAA climate.gov page which provides a scientific and informative database on climate change. From these data, an average for each ten-year period was calculated and compared to previous results to understand if it is a warming or a cooling. The results are reflected in the graph below: CHART 2: THE EVOLUTION OF THE GLOBAL AVERAGE TEMPERATURE SINCE 1880 - SOURCE: CLIMATE.GOV - PERSONAL ELABORATION This is a warming since 1980, preceded by several periods of cooling and warming. This indicates that it is indeed a temperate anomaly and thus shows a warming less disturbed by cooling phenomena from 1993. 3. ASSESSMENTS OF CLIMATE CHANGE PREDICTIONS In order to make predictions of climate change between now and 2050 and 2100, it is necessary to assess the effects of climate change by studying the warming of the oceans, the evolution of precipitation and the rise in sea level. 3.1 Evolution of precipitation The phenomenon of precipitation does not only include rain but also includes snow, hail, sleet and mist. Haze is microscopic drops of water, sleet is precipitation of small crystals of snow, and hail is precipitation of masses of ice. The word precipitation designates a measurable element (generally in millimetres) which falls from the sky whether in liquid or solid -1 -0,5 0 0,5 1 1,5 2 1880 1885 1890 1895 1900 1905 1910 1915 1920 1925 1930 1935 1940 1945 1950 1955 1960 1965 1970 1975 1980 1985 1990 1995 2000 2005 2010 2015
