The Law distinguishes the following basic principles of advertising: advertising must be decent and fair and clearly identifiable (Article 3). Article 14 of this Law sets out requirements for food advertising. Thus, according to the requirements of the law, food advertising must indicate that the food is genetically modified, if information is to be provided that the food is genetically modified organisms, if its parts contain genetically modified organisms or its composition contains parts produced from genetically modified organisms. Also, advertising of food supplements must contain the reference “Food supplement”. According to the requirements of this article, it is prohibited to distribute energy drinks free of charge for advertising purposes to persons under the age of 18. Advertising of infant formula is permitted only in accordance with the procedure established by legal acts establishing the requirements for the provision of information about these formulas. It is important to note that the use of trademarks intended for labelling food products on the market must comply with the requirements of legal acts regulating food, including the requirements governing the provision of indications of place of origin, information on healthiness, environmental friendliness, etc. Also, the use of trademarks intended for labelling alcohol on the market must comply with the requirements established in the Law on Alcohol Control. VII. NATIONAL HERITAGE PRODUCTS National heritage, both traditional crafts and culinary heritage, is an important part of the country’s ethnic culture. It is important to note that the preservation of national heritage allows preserving the authenticity and traditions of each nation and is a means of increasing tourist attractiveness. Food or culinary heritage includes the composition of food, methods of preparation, storage. In Lithuania, rural people were engaged in crop production, animal husbandry, fishing, as well as herbalism. Over a long period of time, food preparation traditions and recipes have developed, which are passed down from generation to generation. Today, this is done through various educations, doing business or formal training. In order to ensure state protection of national heritage products, preserve the accumulated experience of traditional crafts and national heritage products as an integral part of our ethnic culture and adapt them to the needs of the present, the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania adopted the Law on National Heritage Products on 26 June 2007, the purpose of which is to ensure state protection 670 JOLANTA VILKEVIČIŪTĖ
