II. LOCAL GASTRONOMIC POINTS - IN TERMS OF LEGISLATION Recently, in December 2023, the Romanian Parliament adopted the Law for the establishment and operation of local gastronomic points. First, the law defines the terms it uses as follows: The local gastronomic point (in Romanian, PGL - Punct Gastronomic Local) is a unit for capitalizing on local primary production, located in a rural locality, where food products are prepared and served, according to recipes specific to the area, directly to the final consumer, for a maximum number of 15 people at a time. The rural locality is represented by commune residence villages, component villages of communes and villages belonging to municipalities or cities. The local plan is represented by the administrative-territorial unit to which the local gastronomic point belongs and/or by the place of residence of the person who owns the local gastronomic point, as well as by the administrative-territorial units bordering them. Therefore, regulating the organization and operation of a local gastronomic point, in the above sense, the law establishes that the food products offered by the local gastronomic point are prepared from locally available raw materials, mainly from primary production at the level of own holding, from producers, fishermen, hunters, gatherers and collectors of non-timber forest products. The local gastronomic point can be operated in the existing premises of private homes, agricultural farms, fish farms, stables, apiaries, wineries, fishing shelters, hunting funds, hunting complexes, mushroom and berry collection centers, forest reserves, monasteries, as well as in other constructions and facilities in a rural locality, where one or more related activities are carried out with the primary production of agricultural products, fishing, hunting, harvesting or collection of non-timber forest products. 677 LEGAL AND ECONOMIC REALITIES
